Philip: Faithful in the Scattering

Philip: Faithful in the Scattering
Most people would not choose hardship, uncertainty, or disruption. Yet in Acts 8, God used persecution to spread the Gospel farther than the early church ever imagined.
When believers were scattered, they did not stop sharing Jesus—they carried the message with them wherever they went. Philip was one of those believers.
Instead of becoming bitter or fearful, Philip remained flexible and faithful. He followed God into Samaria, into the desert, and eventually beside a single carriage carrying an Ethiopian official searching for truth.
One of the most powerful reminders from this message is this:
When God tells you where, look for the who.
Philip did not need a stage, a title, or a perfect plan to make an impact. He simply obeyed the next instruction God gave him. Because of that obedience, an entire life was changed.
Pastor Dale reminded us that evangelism is not just something Christians do—it is who we are. Every believer carries the responsibility and privilege of pointing people to Jesus. We may not have every answer, but if we know Jesus, we know enough to lead someone toward Him.
Philip’s faithfulness also produced fruit beyond the moment. Years later, Scripture still describes him as “Philip the Evangelist.” His walk with God shaped his home, his ministry, and the people around him.
Faithfulness may feel small in the moment, but God often uses ordinary obedience to accomplish extraordinary things.
Reflection for the Week:
Who has God placed in your path this week? Sometimes the greatest opportunities for ministry begin with a simple conversation and a willing heart.
