Stephen: Full of Grace and Truth

Stephen: Full of Grace and Truth

Stephen was not just known for what he said—he was known for how he lived.

Acts describes him as a man “full of God’s grace and power.” Even in the face of opposition, false accusations, and hatred, Stephen continued to point people to Jesus with wisdom, boldness, and truth.

One of the strongest challenges from this message is this:
Do we reflect the love of God or the anger of the world?

Stephen spoke truth clearly, but he also reflected the character of Christ. His life reminds us that conviction and grace are not opposites. We are called to stand firmly on truth while still responding with the spirit of Jesus.

Pastor Dale reminded us that sharing truth will often bring conviction. The question is not whether conviction comes—the question is how we respond to it. Will we respond with humility or hostility?

Even while being attacked, Stephen kept his eyes fixed on Jesus. Scripture says he looked into heaven and saw the glory of God with Jesus standing at the Father’s right hand. In his final moments, Stephen responded with forgiveness instead of bitterness:

“Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!”

That kind of grace only comes from someone who has truly experienced the grace of God personally.

Stephen’s story reminds us that faith is not only something we proclaim on Sundays—it is something we live daily. You cannot die for a faith you never lived for.

Reflection for the Week:

When pressure, criticism, or conflict comes into your life, what do you reflect? Ask God to help you respond with both truth and grace, keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus no matter the circumstance.
