Resurrection Power

Resurrection Power

It’s easy to celebrate the resurrection on Easter—but what does it actually mean for us the rest of the week?

Paul makes it clear in 1 Corinthians 15: if the resurrection isn’t real, then everything falls apart. Our faith would be empty. Our sins would still define us. And our hope would only stretch as far as this life allows.

But verse 20 shifts everything:
“But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead…”

That one truth changes everything.

Because Jesus rose, our faith isn’t built on wishful thinking—it’s anchored in reality. We’re not trusting in an idea, a feeling, or a tradition. We’re trusting in a risen Savior. The resurrection is the foundation of the Gospel. Without it, there is no good news—but because of it, our faith is alive and secure.

Because Jesus rose, our sins are forgiven. The resurrection is the proof that the payment was accepted—that the debt has been paid in full. We are no longer defined by guilt or shame, but by grace. We’ve been made right with God, not because of what we’ve done, but because of what Jesus finished.

And because Jesus rose, our future is forever. Our hope doesn’t stop at this life. Even in the face of loss, grief, or uncertainty, we hold onto the promise that death is not the end. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us—and one day, we will experience that same resurrection life fully.

The resurrection isn’t just something to remember—it’s something to live in.

This Week, Reflect:
  • Is my faith rooted in the truth of the resurrection, or just in routine?
  • Am I still carrying guilt that Jesus has already paid for?
  • How would my perspective change if I truly lived with eternal hope in mind?
